    Beating a Dead Horse How to improve temperature of steam

    In our factory we are using a fire-tube boiler fro KILN Dryer, Heat to the boiler is supplied by raw wood , We get maximum temperature of 65 Degree Celsius tell us some suggestions to rise the temperature. The manufacture didn't provided any pressure gauge to identify the working pressure

    With no idea of the safe working pressure of the boiler - AND - no pressure gauge, it would be pure insanity to increase the temperature by any means.

    Does the boiler have a pressure relief system? If so what is it rated at. That may add a modicum of safety to this foolish endeavor.

    I suggest you talk to the manufacturer or leave it all alone while everyone is still alive and un-scalded.

    Hi, As much as I would like to help further, steam is is a very serious medium to be working with especially once super-heating gets involved. I have a seen a guy's forearm stripped totally of flesh in under two seconds with some careless handling of steam systems. It had forearm - cooked meat - bare bone - cooked meat - hand.

    You need to get someone who really knows what they are messing with and are qualified to do so. Sorry, but I will not be adding more to this thread.

    Higher temperature = higher pressure.

    DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RAISE TEMPERATURE UNTIL YOU KNOW THE PRESSURE.
    DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RAISE TEMPERATURE UNTIL YOU KNOW HOW MUCH PRESSURE THE BOILER WILL WITHSTAND WITHOUT FAILURE.

    You are about to have an explosion.
    Is that clear enough for you?

    Need to pick a location and install a pressure and temperature gauge. Monitor and consider shutdown features in the pressure/temperature features.

    Steam power using steam pump??

    Return, no steam trap or condensate pump.

    Who designed this.?

    Did this ever work??

    If so, what is the steam temperature or what was it?

    I suspect that the cross-over (White) control valve has pressure regulation features. If it does, how does this component accomplish regulation?

    Are there any system operational limit specifications available from the design or equipment provider?

    I would suggest that a mechanical system design review be completed before changing the operational pressure of the system. Without an understanding of the pressure design limits raising the temperature/pressure could be dangerous.

    I work with hot water and steam systems, steam is really quite simple but its also very dangerous. This is why there's redundant valves everywhere you look on a steam system, you need to get someone that specializes with steam or the actual designer himself to help you out on this one.
