Ribbon Heating Elements Review

Ribbon Heating Elements are flat and typically flexible resistive heating elements. Ribbon coil heating elements are manufactured from Nichrome, Iron-Chrome, Nickel-Chrome, Nickel-Iron, Nickel, Stainless Steel, Molybdenum, Tungsten, and MoSi2 conductor wire. Insulation materials used on heating elements include: mica, asbestos, ceramics, synthetic liquids, polymers and fiberglass. Advantages of ribbon shaped heating elements are the low profile, flexible, and large heat transfer area.

Applications: Ribbon heating elements can be found in plastic softening applications, industrial paint booths, floor heating systems, environmental chambers.
