Kinetic Energy

Kinetic energy (KE) is the energy of motion. Using English system units, it is defined by Equation 1-12.

Example: Determine the kinetic energy of 7 lbm of steam flowing through a pipe at a velocity of 100 ft/sec.

Solution: Using Equation 1-12.
