Hello,everyone.

First, it would be helpful to know where these drawings were made. Different countries or organizations refer to different standards. You might also try www.matweb.com. Another question - was there a number before the "GAUGE PLATE"? (example: "10 GAUGE PLATE" or "14 GAUGE PLATE") |

These drawings from the United Kingdom. There was not anything before the "GAUGE PLATE",only is "GAUGE PLATE". |

Some of those seem vaguely familiar. However, I would suggest checking in a metal supplier's stock list book. I regularly use Central Steel & Wire and Ryerson's detailed information books. Perhaps a searchable form of the book can be found online.

My 25 years experience says "I Don't Know"! Engineers and others invent slang and other nomenclature all the time on engineering drawings. Ask the creator of the drawing... This is why management insists on standards, training and good communications. |
