I am designing a gearbox, with a 75 KW Ac Drive motor operating at 1440RPM input and a output of 160RPM with 2 relatively equal spur gear reductions. I calculated that the output shaft will have a torque of 7161.97Nm which seems quit large, none the less i was wondering an appropriate material for this shaft, as it will have to have a working life of 10hrs per day, 6 days a week. Suggestions or information where to find materials for this shaft would be veryy much appreciated.
