hello sir,

we have performed wear and friction test for EN9 steel pin against hard chrome plated disc.hardness of the disc is around (58HRC) and we used pins of different hardness i.e., 45hrc,35hrc,25hrcetc.for these hardness we got coefficient of friction values as follows.

45 HRC pin---- 0.377

35 HRC pin---- 0.316

25 HRC pin---- 0.269 and

Also we performed for tool steel pin (62 HRC)----0.473(coeffi friction).

but for 54-58 HRC pin we got ----- 0.622.

we dont have any theoritical literature values for these conditions, so we would like to know what is the relation between hardness and friction coefficient.

kindly let me know the details...

thanks in advance.....
