CHANNEL VOLUME OF HEAT EXCHANGER Smile

I want to calculate the volume(length)of channel side of BEU type heat exchanger, when the flow rate and inside diameter of the channel are known.

I know the rule of thumb that the ratio of L/D should be around 1.6, but I want the exact calculation used for this purpose.

I shall be very thankful if some body can be in this regard.
