We are working on our BE project – “Design of a Air Preheater for zuari industries”. currently in the ammonia plant, ljungstrom preheater is used, where sulphur deposition takes place. We think that the plate type heat exchanger can be used in its place.

Currently we are working on finding the heat transfer coefficient and thus efficiency of different kinds of heat exchangers (i.e. shell and tube and plate type). In order to obtain a suitable solution to the problem,

We currently face these problems:
• Few alternate solutions.
• Procedure of actual design.
• Testing and simulation procedure.

We in short are interested to know how the actual designing of preheater starts. Right now we have the operating temperatures , mass flow rates and other parameters.

Any advice or guidance from you will be very valuable in our BE project.
