Please help. I have an old hydraulic cement mixer (The kind that you see on the backs of cement trucks) and I am wanting to get it into some kind of working order.

At the moment it consists of just a chassis, drum and motor. there are four large hydraulic lines attached to the motor, but no pump, no power unit, no valve block. I'm open to any suggestions as to the simplist way of getting the thing to turn again.

It's based in a yard and doesn't need to be portable, i'm just looking to get it turning again. I have 3 phase power but would prefer a solution based around a diesel engine or something.

I'm hoping someone will know of a scrap yard type solution, ie. low cost. an old tractor or something like that.

I need the motor to turn both ways and i don't have a great understanding of hydraulics.

Thank for any help.

Well you need to get a number off the hydraulic motor then go to the manufacturer and find out what kind of oil supply (GPM) this motor will require, once you figure out your GPM you can start to look fo a pump to supply it

Get the desired RPM of the mixer and the load(torque requirement) and work from there. If you are located in farm country an older combine or cotton picker that used a hydrostatic drive system might make a suitable power unit. Maytag
