i use s7 tool steel to create coining dies. the cutting tool has a 30 deg inclusive angle so there is plenty of clearence. the dies are heat treated to 56-57rc and drawn. from time to time coins stick to the die and have to be removed by hand. as you can imagine doing 100000 coins with this problem is a pain . we have tried many approches to this problem, and some work but with lessened quality as the trade off. i'm thinking it has something to do with heat treat but am not sure. any ideas thanks paul
