I have an hollow aluminum tube shaft, 3 inch od with a 1/2 inch wall thickness. overall length is 130 1/8 inches. I am applying an evenly dispersed load over the center 108 inches. What is the maximum weight limit I can apply to this shaft to keep the deflection under the maximum range for the aluminum, which I believe is 1/2 inch of deflection. and if you could also supply me with the formula used to calculate this.
