    cold forged welding nut

    dear, friends, do any one know how is producing process of of forging for attached nut?

    The geometry is not practical for forging. The height to thickness ration of the flat flange area is not possible.

    Why forging as one piece?

    It is stronger if is forged, what about combination of forging and stamping have any one experience?
    Do any one work on cold forging?

    This can be done on cold forging.
    Need atleast 5 die blow to achieve.
    What is the material and hardness requirement?

    How do you have any plan of forging? It is material RSt37-2.

    Why not a full strength, full penetration weld to make it a captive nut, rather than a single entity?
