    Bang Head pressure torque conversion

    hi all

can anyone help me to figure up how much pressure (psi) should be applied for this condition :

    i- box wrench size : 60mm
ii- minimum required tensioning force : 460kN
iii- maximum required tensioning force : 734kN

fyi, the item to be tensioning is macalloy bar ( i also not sure what it is)

plus can show how we can get the pressure value given the torque value is known.

It's just a tie-rod and thread tensioning system...

I still not get what u mean Kelly.

It given box wrench size is = 60.3mm
min. required tension force = 460kN ( tensioning force is same for torque applied? or diff.?

what the pressure, psi should be applied.?

Size of the box wrench is meaningless... Nobody knows the sizes of your hardware...

The force applied by a screw thread is approximately equal to the applied torque divided by the major diameter and friction constant.

You should consider consulting an available engineer and/or the tensioning system applications engineer.
