    SolidWorks Stress Analysis question

Hi guys, new to the forum, hope you're all well!

I have a question regarding stress analysis on Solidworks. I am designing an enclosure and am trying to figure out how to determine max load before failure. I am using an assembly (see attachment for design) and cannot use stress analysis on SW.

Is it possible to use stress analysis on assembly? Any suggestions or help much appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

The enclosure would be treated like a single component, loading defined and the highest stress areas computed. From there, a more detailed analysis conducted at those high stress areas and a Factor of Safety applied.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.

Hi Kelly thanks for your response!

I maybe didn't word my question properly, I'll try and clear that up.

Basically I am using Solidworks Standard edition and would require Solidworks Professional to obtain the relevant software for Simulation (stress analysis) which I'm relatively new to. The question I have is, is it worth me getting the Professional version, which can be pricey.

And, will the professional version allow me to use the simulation on a Solidworks assembly?

    Thanks in advance!
    Tom
