I know how to calculate a true position based on x and y deviation from basic cartesian. What is the formula for calculating true position when you have a bolt circle basic and an angular basic?

converting to polar coordinates might help

Evaluating true position tolerance does not depend on the way the feature is dimensioned, only on the means by which the distance from the feature axis or centerplane is from the true position described.

If the analysis is via CMM you should still get delta-x and delta-y. You might also get a direct radial measurement.

If you are gaging, the virtual condition pins at true position won't care how the part was initially dimensioned.
