Since gas prices are rediculous, this thought has been keeping me up at night.
OK here goes. The hand crank radios that generate there own power.. that is the premis of my thought.
This would be used in elecric cars on a larger scale.
Make the electric generator larger...like a car alternator or something similar.. My appologies for not being more knowledgeable but that is why I chose the name I did.

Any way.. the thought..

The car motor would be powered by batteries like the ones pre existing. The charge could come from 3 or 4 of these larger cranked spinning generators to re fill the batteries.
The spinning of the generator would be constant because the continued pressure from a large spring.. similar to a leaf spring in a car. in a spiral like the hand cranked power radios.
The movement of the car axel could be connected to a small hydrolic motor which would retension the spring to keep the genarator/alternator spinning. thus continually creating power to re charge the batteries. I hope I am being clear.

The hydrolic pump requires very little energy which could easily be taken from the car axel when moving.. Therefore re winding the spring which is geared to turn the alternator.like a watch on an as needed basis. That would be better than regenerative braking because the alternator would continue spinning even when the car is still.
What do you think? whew...
