Steady-state torque (Ts) The torque used to select couplings should
be based upon the following equations:

Where:
TS = steady state torque used to select the coupling (SI,
newton-meters; U.S., inch-pounds)
Pnormal = input power required by the driven machine at the
specified normal operating point (SI, kilowatts; U.S.,
horsepower)
Nnormal = speed corresponding to the normal power (in revolutions
per minute)
S.F. = service factor
