Which engineering profession pays the most?
Mar 5, 2013 - It's no surprise that engineers make a decent wage — but did you know this is industry dependent?
Engineers Edge combed through data gathered annually by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a division of the Labor Department, to find out what is going on with engineering pay. The BLS culls its information from surveys it mails to businesses, and it releases its Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates Data each spring. The report shares information about hundreds of occupations, including hourly and annual wages, total numbers of workers in the profession, and the states and metro areas that pay the best.
So, here’s the latest list with data collected from 2010…
1. Petroleum Engineers
2. Nuclear Engineers
3. Computer Hardware Engineers
4. Aerospace Engineers
5. Chemical Engineers
6. Electronics & Electrical Engineers
