Calculation of Actual Contaminated Firewater Volume

Simple method for sizing of an air vessel for surge or water hammer attenuation in long-distance pumped liquid pipelines. Surge or Water hammer can cause mechanical damage or rupture of pipelines. This may lead to serious consequences of release of pipeline contents to the surroundings due to rupture causing environmental and health hazards.
